What is open play?+
Open play is a drop-in pickleball session, usually skill-level segmented (e.g., 3.0–3.5), where players rotate through courts using a paddle-stacking system. No partner needed. Most public courts and clubs run 2–6 sessions per week. Filter by your skill on our calendar.

Indoor vs outdoor pickleball — what's different?+
Indoor uses a softer, larger-hole ball (less affected by HVAC airflow) and is played on wood or sport-tile. Outdoor uses a harder, smaller-hole ball that stands up to wind, on concrete, asphalt, or acrylic-coated surfaces. Most courts list both options. Filter by setting on each city page.
